Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy
Featuring the WeberBrain® Multi-Wavelength Photobiomodulation System
Your brain regulates everything — cognition, mood, focus, sleep, inflammation, and recovery. When brain cells are stressed by injury, aging, infection, inflammation, or chronic stress, cellular energy production declines and healing slows.
Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy is a cutting-edge, non-invasive treatment designed to support brain function at the cellular level. Using precise medical laser wavelengths (680nm, 808nm, and 1064nm), this therapy delivers targeted light energy through the scalp and skull to stimulate mitochondrial function, enhance ATP production, reduce neuroinflammation, and improve cerebral circulation.
At Aspen Integrative Medical Center, we utilize the WeberBrain® system by Weber Medical — a multi-wavelength laser platform used internationally in integrative and neurologic medicine.
This is not a cosmetic red light device.
This is precision brain photobiomodulation.
If you are experiencing cognitive decline, lingering concussion symptoms, brain fog, mood instability, or are simply looking to optimize neurologic performance, Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy may be an important addition to your personalized treatment plan.

The Science
Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy (also called transcranial photobiomodulation) uses specific medical laser wavelengths to deliver light energy into brain tissue. This light interacts with mitochondria inside brain cells, helping improve cellular energy production and support recovery.
The therapy uses three laser wavelengths:
- 680nm (red spectrum) – Supports superficial cortical activation and mitochondrial signaling\
- 808nm (near infrared) – Enhances deeper tissue penetration and ATP production
- 1064nm (infrared) – Promotes cerebral blood flow and deeper neuromodulation effects
Light energy stimulates cytochrome c oxidase within mitochondria, increasing ATP production and reducing oxidative stress. Improved cellular energy allows the brain to regulate inflammation and support repair processes more efficiently.
The brain represents only 2% of body weight, yet consumes nearly 20% of the body’s energy.
When mitochondrial function declines, symptoms often appear long before imaging or labs show abnormalities.
Fatigue. Brain fog. Slowed processing. Mood instability. Poor recovery.
Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy targets cellular energy production directly — supporting the brain at its most fundamental level.
No. Many consumer red light devices use LEDs with limited penetration and power.
The WeberBrain® system uses medical-grade lasers at multiple wavelengths, allowing for deeper and more precise light delivery into brain tissue.
Yes. Transcranial photobiomodulation (PBM) has been studied for its effects on mitochondrial function, cerebral blood flow, neuroinflammation, and neuroplasticity.
Peer-reviewed research has explored its use in:
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Concussion recovery
- Cognitive decline
- Mood disorders
- Neurodegenerative conditions
- Post-stroke rehabilitation
- Fatigue and brain fog
Mechanistically, studies suggest that specific red and near-infrared wavelengths may:
- Stimulate cytochrome c oxidase in mitochondria
- Increase ATP production
- Improve regional cerebral blood flow
- Modulate inflammatory signaling
- Support synaptic plasticity
While research is ongoing and continues to evolve, the body of evidence supporting photobiomodulation for neurologic applications has grown significantly over the past decade.
At Aspen Integrative Medical Center, we apply this therapy within a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan — not as a stand-alone “quick fix,” but as part of a broader strategy to support brain regulation and recovery.
Health Benefits
Transcranial photobiomodulation is being explored in clinical research for:
- Cognitive decline and memory concerns
- Brain fog
- Chronic fatigue
- Concussion recovery
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Neurodegenerative conditions
- Mood disorders
- Post-viral neurological symptoms
- Performance optimization
We individualize protocols based on your health history and goals.
You should try this therapy if you answer yes to any of the following:
- Feel mentally fatigued or cognitively slower than before
- Have persistent symptoms after a concussion
- Struggle with brain fog or poor focus
- Are concerned about cognitive longevity
- Want to optimize neurologic performance
What to Expect With Treatment
You will sit comfortably while the laser applicators are positioned over specific areas of the scalp. The treatment is painless. Some patients report mild warmth or relaxation. Sessions typically last 15–30 minutes depending on protocol.
Treatment frequency depends on the condition being addressed. Acute injuries may require more frequent sessions initially, while chronic optimization protocols are often performed weekly or biweekly and then switched to a maintenance/optimization phase coming back as needed.
We often recommend combining laser therapy with other modalities to enhance results.
Yes — and in many cases, it works best that way.
When the nervous system is supported and cellular energy production improves, therapies such as:
- Ozone therapy including EBOO, hemealumen IV ozone, and nasal ozone
- IV nutrient therapy
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
- Inhaled hydrogen therapy
- Neural therapy
Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy at our clinic is delivered within a physician-directed medical framework — not a spa-based or cosmetic model.
We specialize in:
- Medical-grade, multi-wavelength laser systems (not LED devices)
- Individually tailored treatment protocols based on your health history and goals
- Integration with nervous system and regenerative therapies for synergistic results
- Physician-supervised treatments to ensure safety and precision
- A focus on root-cause physiology and cellular regulation, not temporary symptom masking
Our goal is not simply to offer a device — but to deliver a strategic, medically guided therapy designed to support long-term neurologic health.
Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy at our clinic is physician-supervised medical laser therapy, delivered within a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan.
Your brain function influences every aspect of your health — cognition, mood, focus, sleep, inflammation regulation, and long-term vitality. Investing in brain health today can have lasting effects on your overall well-being for years to come.
While we specialize in advanced, technology-driven therapies, we are committed to keeping our treatments accessible and affordable.
Individual sessions of Advanced Transcranial Laser Therapy start at approximately $40 per treatment. We also offer discounted package pricing for patients undergoing a structured protocol, which can significantly reduce the per-session cost.
Because treatment frequency and duration vary depending on your condition and goals, we recommend contacting our office to discuss current pricing and package options. Pricing is subject to change.
Safety & Contraindications
Transcranial laser therapy is non-invasive and well tolerated. Treatments are performed in-office under medical supervision, but WeberMedical also makes a home version we sometimes recommend to patients. Most patients experience no discomfort.
As with any therapy, patient selection and individualized protocols are essential to maximize safety and effectiveness. We recommend always wearing protective eye wear to insure eye safety.
Individuals with active brain tumors, uncontrolled seizure disorders, or certain implanted electronic devices may not be appropriate candidates. A consultation is required prior to treatment.
This is an important distinction.
Certain laser devices are FDA-cleared for specific indications such as pain reduction, tissue repair, and circulation improvement. However, transcranial photobiomodulation for cognitive optimization or neurologic support is considered an emerging and evolving application.
The WeberBrain® system is a medical laser device manufactured in accordance with regulatory standards, but its use for brain optimization and neurologic support falls within the scope of physician-directed clinical care.
In medicine, many therapies are used “off-label” when supported by scientific rationale and clinical experience. Off-label use is both common and legal when guided by appropriate medical evaluation and informed consent.
If you have questions about regulatory status or whether this therapy is appropriate for your condition, we are happy to discuss this during your consultation.
