Manual Therapy
Experience the healing benefits of skilled, directed and intuitive manual therapy.
Dr. Mele specializes in providing patients care through several different light touch techniques of manual therapy including CranioSacral therapy, Visceral Manipulation and Neural Manipulation. Her background in medicine, including extensive training and application of anatomy and physiology combined with a personal journey of study in metaphysics and energy healing allows her to provide a unique perspective on physical symptoms and their connection to the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of self. Her perspective on manual therapy is shaped by extensive study of osteopathic techniques but is also informed by working with the deep inner wisdom of the patient.
Dr. Mele believes the nervous system is an integral part of whole body health and is always evaluating for disturbance in nervous system function as a deeper root cause of physical dysfunction. Dr. Mele also has a unique experience working with the fascial system to work through stored emotions, trauma and nervous system dysregulation. She enjoys working with specific musculoskeletal concerns and pain patterns as well as taking patients through a somatic journey to work through stored patterns of emotion in the system.
Her work includes an initial assessment of the physical body, nervous system and energy body to work with the patient’s inner wisdom to determine the area needing the most support. Everything in our bodies are interconnected so this may not always be in the primary area where pain or discomfort is experienced. Through light touch Dr. Mele is able to discern dysfunction in organs, fascia, nerves and the nervous system, the dural system, cranium, musculoskeletal system, mentality and emotions. She is simply a facilitator and guide for the body to ease into self-healing and self-correction.
What conditions can manual therapy be helpful for?
Manual therapy modalities can be applied to help almost any condition, but Dr. Mele particularly enjoys working with patients who may not be suitable for other practitioners including:
- Patients with history of CSF leak or current blood patch
- Patients with hypermobility syndrome or Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
- Patients with a history of trauma or PTSD (mental, emotional, physical, sexual)
- Patients with a unique anatomical concern that causes pain or dysfunction (missing organs, organ removal, poor surgical outcomes, congenital disease)
- Mystery symptoms that have not been helped by conventional medicine
- Patients with hypersensitivity, dysautonomia or other degree of autonomic dysfunction
- Patients with birth trauma (any age)
- Infants and children

If you are considering manual therapy for your health and healing, we strongly suggest seeing Dr. Mele for evaluation and treatment. And if you’ve seen another provider who does these modalities and you have had mixed results, do not give up on the modality as not all providers practice and evaluate in the same way.
