Many of these tests can be completed from the comfort of your home using physician-ordered collection kits that are mailed directly to you and returned to the laboratory for analysis.

Genetic testing can provide valuable insight into inherited traits that may influence nutrition, metabolism, detoxification, medication response, cardiovascular health, and disease risk.

Our physicians interpret genetic testing within the context of your overall health rather than in isolation. A genetic variant does not necessarily mean you have—or will develop—a particular condition. Instead, these results can help personalize prevention strategies and treatment recommendations when clinically appropriate.

When additional evaluation is needed, we may recommend imaging or other diagnostic studies through local imaging centers or specialty providers.

The cost of laboratory testing varies depending on the type of test, laboratory, and specimen collected.

Routine laboratory testing performed through laboratories such as Labcorp or Sonora Quest may be eligible for insurance coverage, although benefits vary by insurance plan and cannot be guaranteed.

Many specialty and functional laboratory tests are offered on a cash-pay basis and are often not covered by insurance. Whenever possible, we will discuss anticipated costs before ordering testing so you can make an informed decision.

Laboratory values should always be interpreted within the context of your complete clinical picture. A single abnormal laboratory value does not necessarily indicate disease, and a result within the laboratory’s reference range does not always mean it is optimal for your individual health.
